~Exodus 19:1 In the third month after the children of Israel were goneforth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into thewilderness of Sinai.
~Exodus 19:2 And when they were departed from Rephidim, andwere come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in thewilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mount.
~Exodus 19:3 And Moses went up unto God, and Jehovah called untohim out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house ofJacob, and tell the children of Israel:
~Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how Ibare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
~Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, andkeep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from amongall peoples: for all the earth is mine:
~Exodus 19:6 and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and aholy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto thechildren of Israel.
~Exodus 19:7 And Moses came and called for the elders of thepeople, and set before them all these words which Jehovahcommanded him.
~Exodus 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All thatJehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words ofthe people unto Jehovah.
~Exodus 19:9 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee ina thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, andmay also believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of thepeople unto Jehovah.
~Exodus 19:10 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go unto the people,and sanctify them to-day and to-morrow, and let them wash theirgarments,
~Exodus 19:11 and be ready against the third day; for the third dayJehovah will come down in the sight of all the people upon mountSinai.
~Exodus 19:12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people roundabout, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into themount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shallbe surely put to death:
~Exodus 19:13 no hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned,or shot through; whether it be beast or man, he shall not live: whenthe trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
~Exodus 19:14 And Moses went down from the mount unto thepeople, and sanctified the people; and they washed their garments.
~Exodus 19:15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the thirdday: come not near a woman.
~Exodus 19:16 And it came to pass on the third day, when it wasmorning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloudupon the mount, and the voice of a trumpet exceeding loud; and allthe people that were in the camp trembled.
~Exodus 19:17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the campto meet God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
~Exodus 19:18 And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, becauseJehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended asthe smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
~Exodus 19:19 And when the voice of the trumpet waxed louder andlouder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
~Exodus 19:20 And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the topof the mount: and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount; andMoses went up.
~Exodus 19:21 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Go down, charge thepeople, lest they break through unto Jehovah to gaze, and many ofthem perish.
~Exodus 19:22 And let the priests also, that come near to Jehovah,sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth upon them.
~Exodus 19:23 And Moses said unto Jehovah, The people cannotcome up to mount Sinai: for thou didst charge us, saying, Set boundsabout the mount, and sanctify it.
~Exodus 19:24 And Jehovah said unto him, Go, get thee down; andthou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priestsand the people break through to come up unto Jehovah, lest he breakforth upon them.
